RICHARDSON SPRINGS
SPRINGS OF LIVING WATER
CHICO, CALIFORNIA

Nestled in the foothills of Chico, a hotel that once catered to the rich and famous who visited because of the mineral springs and healing waters, the base now offers salvation and ministers to needy people around the world

Built in the 1800s by the Richardson brothers, this YWAM base is always bustling with activities, some having volunteered here for over two dozen years.

The peacocks with their shrill screech, announce their presence regularly

Deer frequent the base, usually in the early hours, in search of water and green foliage

Tomme is the director of TESOL (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages) and the ESL (English Second Language) program. Students come from many countries to learn English or how to teach it. Tomme Nyberg is a retired school teacher, YWAM staff person and in her 70s

Cabins with modern conveniences are nestled in the trees and along the swift running creek that generates electricity for the base with the hydro plant

This area is called Hummingbird Hill

Flowers in the main lobby of the hotel, arranged by the director's wife

The foot bridge takes you across the street and to the hotel and dining hall where 3 good meals a day are served

Meals very nutritious, including about 10 heads of lettuce every dinner or lunch

We took our turns in the kitchen too
